The House of Representatives meeting has been adjourned until Monday.
Sunday’s House meeting, which was postponed twice in the afternoon before finally beginning at 6:30 p.m., was adjourned without proceeding with the agenda.
As soon as the meeting started, lawmakers from opposition parties stood up in protest.
Despite Speaker Devraj Ghimire's appeal to create a conducive environment for the meeting, opposition lawmakers continued their protest.
Within minutes of the meeting's commencement, Speaker Ghimire announced the removal of the agenda and adjourned the meeting until Monday.
The next meeting has been scheduled for Monday at 2 p.m.
Speaker Ghimire expressed confidence that ongoing discussions among parties to resume the House would yield positive results.
