The central committee of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has been informed about the resignation of Joint General Secretary Sumana Shrestha.

Shrestha’s resignation was approved on May 23 (Friday). Central members were informed about her resignation during Sunday’s central committee meeting.

Shrestha, who is also a member of the House of Representatives, had resigned from the position of joint general secretary expressing her wish to focus on her legislative role rather than party responsibilities.

In December 2023, a meeting of the RSP held in Jaleshwar had decided to appoint Shrestha as joint general secretary of the party.
