Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli administered the oath of office and secrecy to newly-appointed Minister of State for Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation Kham Bhadur Garbuja on Sunday.
Minister of State Garbuja took the oath at a ceremony held on Sunday at the prime minister’s residence in Baluwatar.
Deputy Prime Minister and Urban Development Minister Prakash Man Singh, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, other ministers, and senior government officials were also present on the occasion.
On April 30, President Ram Chandra Paudel appointed Garbuja as minister of state on PM Oli’s recommendation.
Garbuja was elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Myagdi. He is also the president of the Nepali Congress Myagdi chapter.
Garbuja replaces Purna Bahadur Tamang (Kanchha Ram), who is also from the Nepali Congress, as minister of state for energy. PM Oli removed Tamang on April 13.
