President Ram Chandra Paudel presented the government’s policies and programs for fiscal year 2082-83 BS (2025-26) on Friday.
The president presented the policies and programs for the upcoming fiscal year at a joint session of the House of Representatives and the National Assembly held at the Federal Parliament building in New Baneshwar, Kathmandu, on Friday afternoon.
The government has announced in its policies and programs that it will enhance income-generating opportunities by creating domestic employment through entrepreneurship. It said that it will initiate youth-focused start-up programs, giving special priority to Gen Z, ensuring business plans and their ecosystems across all enterprises.
The government plans to integrate all health-related aid and subsidy programs into the health insurance scheme, and to make the health insurance program sustainable through its restructuring.
The Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground will be transformed into a cricket ground of modern standard. The government has also announced provisions for scholarships for athletes who win international medals and their children to support their education.
Legal arrangements will be made to ensure the participation of all three tiers of government and the private sector in the construction of stadiums and other infrastructure.
The government also plans to link sports with the corporate social responsibility programs of the private sector.
The policies and programs state that school education will be developed into technical and vocational education. The government has put forward a policy to improve the educational quality of community schools.
