Nepali Congress lawmaker Kham Bahadur Garbuja has been appointed as minister of state for energy, water resources, and irrigation.
President Ram Chandra Paudel appointed Garbuja as minister of state on the recommendation of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Wednesday.
Garbuja was elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Myagdi.
On April 13, PM Oli removed Purna Bahadur Tamang (Kanchha Ram), also from the Nepali Congress, as minister of state for energy
During a recent visit to Myagdi, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba had said that Myagdi would soon get a minister.
Garbuja is also the president of the Nepali Congress Myagdi chapter and is considered close to Deuba.
