Balen Shah surges past 7,000 votes

Kathmandu, May 16

Independent candidate for mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Balen Shah has raced past 7,000 votes leaving his rivals in their wake.

Shah has secured 7,089 votes leaving Keshav Sthapit of CPN-UML far behind. Sthapit is second with 3,746 as per the latest update.

Sirjana Singh of Nepali Congress (NC) is third with 3,300 votes.

Shah's vote tally is more than the combined tallies of Sthapit and Singh.
