MCC should be passed unanimously: Bhattarai

Federal Council Chairman of Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Baburam Bhattarai has said the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Compact should be passed.

He has stated that the MCC should be unanimously passed by the House and all the parties should brief the people about this. He added that there should be no problem in the ruling coalition on the issue of MCC.

"The anti-regression coalition should not break due to this. This episode should not become the proverbial bone in the neck for orthodox communists of Nepal," Bhattarai says. "The country should not become more bankrupt and the population should not shrink further. The country should not be destroyed due to maneuverings of power centers."

Bhattarai has said so amidst reports that the ruling coalition has been discussing the MCC.
