Parliamentary party meeting of ruling CPN in Province 5 on Monday has issued whip on its lawmakers to vote in support of the proposal to name the province Lumbini and make Rapti Valley the capital.
Chief Whip of CPN Bhumishwore Dhakal told Setopati that the parliamentary party meeting has instructed its 60 lawmakers to vote in favor of the proposal registered by the government in the provincial assembly. "CM has issued whip to vote for making Butwal the financial and tourism capital and Rapti Valley the administrative capital," Dhakal added.
The meeting called for seven in the morning started well after 11 as Chief Minister (CM) Shankar Pokharel, who convinced CPN Chairmen KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal to transfer provincial capital to Dang, arrived late.
The provincial assembly meeting Monday is scheduled to discuss the proposal.
