The central committee meeting of Nepali Congress (NC) scheduled for Monday has been postponed after seven central committee members tested positive for COVID-19.
NC Spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma told Setopati that the meeting will now be held on Saturday. The main opposition party has already decided to shut down its central office until Wednesday.
Sharma said that five central members have tested positive after giving samples at the central office and two more have tested positive outside the Kathmandu Valley.
The main opposition party had got around 250 persons including central members, their personal secretaries, staffers at the central office and security persons deployed in security of the leaders tested ahead of the meeting on Monday. A total of 20 persons out of them including central members have tested positive.
Gagan Thapa, Arjun Narsingh KC, Ramesh Rijal, Ajay Chaurasiya, Shambhu Lal Shrestha, Kalpana Chaudhary and Jangi Lal Raya are the central members to test positive.
