The Rupandehi District Administration Office has imposed prohibitory orders in some places of Butwal following protests against the proposal to make Deukhuri of Dang the capital of Province 5.
The administration has taken the decision after a network of over a dozen organizations in Rupandehi called a rally in Butwal for Sunday to put pressure in support of making Butwal the provincial capital.
The administration issuing a notice Saturday evening has announced prohibited zones prohibiting gathering of more than five persons effective from six Sunday morning till six Wednesday evening in those zones.
The prohibited zones include the area where the Provincial Assembly secretariat is situated from Ittabhatti Chowk in the south to Kalika Mandir Chowk in the north, Tinau river bank in the west and Kalikapath area between Kalika Mandir Chowk and Ittabhatti Chowk in the east.
Similarly, the area with ministries from Sundar Chowk in the south to Bhudki Chowk in the north, Siddhartha Highway in the west and Bhatbhateni Chowk in the east has also been declared prohibited zone.
Similarly, demonstration has been prohibited in the area of the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers from Jaycees Chowk in the south to Bidyut Chowk to the street connecting Haat Bazar in the north, Haat Bazar street in the west to Siddhartha Highway in the east.
