Three Foreign Ministry joint secretaries recommended for ambassador

The government has recommended ambassadors for three countries.

The Cabinet meeting on Monday recommended joint secretaries of the Foreign Ministry Gehendra Rajbhandari as envoy to Belgium, Tapas Adhikari to Pakistan and Ram Kaji Khadka to Germany, a Cabinet minister confided with Setopati.

The ambassador to Belgium also serves as the envoy to the European Union.

They will be appointed after endorsement by the Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee.

All three are career diplomats. The government has yet to decide about the envoys to be appointed from political quota.
