Leaders are demanding secretariat meeting of ruling CPN to give formal mandate to the six-strong task force formed to resolve the internal dispute in the party.
"Such task force needs to be formed by a party committee—be it secretariat, standing or central committee. Two chairmen do not have such authorities," a secretariat member confided with Setopati. "Secretariat meeting will probably be convened by tomorrow. There will be no meaning of such task force if not being formed by the secretariat giving some mandate. This should be formalized."
He called formation of the taskforce positive but pointed that due procedure has not been completed.
A meeting of the warring CPN Chairmen KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal at Baluwatar on Friday had formed the task force under General Secretary Bishnu Paudel.
The task force also including standing committee members Janardan Sharma, Shankar Pokharel, Bhim Rawal, Surendra Pandey and Pampha Bhusal has been instructed to draft the framework of agreement soon.
Senior leaders Jhala Nath Khanal and Madhav Kumar Nepal, and Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha had then met Dahal and pointed that the task force should be formed by the secretariat.
The task force convened its first meeting on Saturday.
The two chairmen had resumed dialogue on Thursday having last talked on August 4. Oli had claimed in a television program on Wednesday that the internal dispute will be resolved within five days.
