The intra-party dispute of CPN has spilled on to the social with chief advisor to Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli accusing CPN Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha of hypocrisy.
CPN Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, senior leaders Jhala Nath Khanal and Madhav Kumar Nepal, and Shrestha on Wednesday had invited over 100 journalists close to them and slammed the working style of Oli.
PM Oli's chief advisor Bishnu Rimal has taken to Twitter two days later and asked him to at least think about the dignity of the post. "Enough is enough, Narayan Kaji ji! At least save the dignity of the post of party spokesperson. Don't entice leaders to get burnt in the fire of factionalism while singing the fake song of 'system and procedure.' Let there be no activity against party unity by anyone! Do realize that the country is in a sensitive stage," Rimal has tweeted on Friday.
Rimal ironically has borrowed the term 'enough is enough' that youths have currently been using as name of the campaign against the government's negligence in handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and corruption.
"He is party spokesperson, participates in faction and then talks about system and procedure in the meetings of that faction. What he speaks should be the official party position just like what I speak is on behalf of the PM," Rimal told Setopati when asked about his attack on Shrestha. "I have written so as he has become partisan when party spokesperson should have played a balancing role when there is dispute inside the party."
He accused Shrestha of organizing meetings of journalists on the issue of internal dispute in recent times. "He gathered journalists on Wednesday. I have been told that he tried to hold discussion with editors today as well. But it has reportedly been stopped now," he claimed. "There is no need for CPN spokesperson to continue gathering journalists now."
