Chairpersons of four thematic committees of the National Assembly will get a second term.
The federal parliament stipulates the term of chairpersons National Assembly committees to be only for two years. Their term had ended recently following end of the committee's term.
National Assembly Chairman Ganesh Timalsina had immediately started nominating members in the committees and initiated election process.
The erstwhile chairpersons have again filed nomination for the position of chairperson.
Parshu Ram Meghi Gurung has filed nomination for chairperson of the Legislation Management Committee, Tara Devi Bhatta for the Sustainable Development and Good Governance Committee, Dil Kumari Rawal Thapa for the National Concerns and Coordination Committee, and Ram Narayan Bidari for the Delegation Management and Government Assurance Committee, according to the parliament secretariat.
All four will be elected unanimously with no other lawmaker filing nominations.
