Health Minister Bhanubhakta Dhakal has claimed that government has done well in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic despite the limitation of resources and added that those who don't see that have cataract.
"Foreigners have seen the role we have played in a country with limited resources and means like ours. But Nepalis here and abroad cannot see that," Dhakal said addressing a program at the Bir Hospital on Monday. "To not see this positive aspect, I feel as if our culture suffers from cataract."
He claimed that the government searched for those coming from abroad as if with a torchlight and tested them, and those who tested positive were taken to the hospital.
He added that service at the Bir has been expanded to make people feel that they have reached the main hospital of the state. "People should once come to the Bir Hospital and see for themselves the kind of services the state is providing, and the attitude of the doctors and nurses of the state."
