Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has urged Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli to formulate strategy to fight COVID-19 pandemic.
The main opposition leader reached the PM's official residence in Baluwatar Thursday and urged him to prepare strategy now that the lockdown has been lifted. The government has ended almost four months of nationwide lockdown effective from Tuesday midnight but new infections are still being reported in significant numbers.
"President Deuba met PM and urged him to prepare strategy for control of COVID-19 pandemic and also drew his attention to the floods and landslides across the country," Chief Secretary of NC Krishna Prasad Paudel told Setopati.
Deuba also urged PM Oli to expand the scope of PCR tests and drew his attention toward rescue of Nepalis who are stranded abroad after losing their jobs.
