CPN Senior Leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that the party does not believe in any supernatural or miraculous leadership and is an institution that believes in the system of collective leadership.
Issuing a statement to mark the 42nd death anniversary of CPN founder Pushpa Lal Shrestha on Wednesday, Nepal has taken a swipe at CPN Chairman and Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli without taking the name of Oli who has mobilized his cadres to paint himself as indispensable for the country and nationalism even as CPN Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and other leaders including Nepal are calling for his resignation.
"We have reached here facing the bitter reality of the communist movement teetering due to the attitude of not accepting other's existence and considering one to be omnipotent and claiming nothing will work in one's absence," the statement reads. "If there are still such wrong, individualist and non-communist attitudes, it would be duty of all the honest leaders and cadres to stand against that with determination."
He added that such a big CPN has been formed due to adoption of the determination of Shrestha that leaders and cadres of communist party should not be distracted no matter how difficult the situation is and not stop bringing the people together.
"We have not just fulfilled the dream of our founder general secretary Pushpa Lal Comrade by forming a single CPN by unifying two big communist parties but also contributed to moving the movement for liberation of the Nepali people one step forward in quality."
