Central member of Nepali Congress (NC) Shekhar Koirala has questioned the recent political activities of President Bidya Devi Bhandari.
Koirala has pointed that the president is not a political individual but the presidency is a honorable and non-partisan institution even as CPN Chairman and Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli and fellow Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal have intensified their meetings with President Bhandari amidst escalating internal dispute in the ruling party.
Koirala has also stated that President Bhandari should consider constitutional dignity and prestige of the institution.
"President is not a normal and political individual. It's a common, honorable and supreme institution. President should consider her responsibility, constitutional dignity and prestige of the institution. President's rising activities in the internal politics of CPN in recent days is very unfortunate for the country and democracy," Koirala has tweeted on Monday.
