The task force of transport entrepreneurs formed to resolve the prevailing problems in transportation sector has met CPN Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Thursday.
The task force has been formed including heads of different organizations of transport entrepreneurs.
Dahal told the task force that he has prioritized the sector as middle and lower income groups participate in the sector.
"The concerns of entrepreneurs are serious. Countries throughout the world are seen to be announcing relief package during the COVID-19 pandemic," he stated. "I will discuss in the party and with the government about announcing some relief or facilities to resolve the problems of transport entrepreneurs and workers. Policy level things can be left for later."
He conceded that the state should immediately defer bank instalments, make refinancing arrangements for operating vehicles, provide relief and grants, and address health safety issues.
The entrepreneurs have been demanding the aforementioned issues along with facilitating renewal of documents, corona insurance with equal contribution of the government and entrepreneurs, and arrangements of medical supplies and PPEs for transport workers.
