The ongoing CPN standing committee meeting has been stopped after the government suddenly decided to prorogue the ongoing budget session of the federal parliament.
There was ruckus in the meeting that resumed in absence of Prime Minister (PM) and CPN Chairman KP Sharma Oli on Thursday after news came in that the Cabinet meeting decided to recommend for prorogation of the ongoing budget session of the federal parliament.
Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who was chairing the meeting, then said he will talk with Oli. "The meeting has been stopped for a while for talks between the two chairmen," standing committee member and Tourism Minister Yogesh Bhattarai told Setopati.
The sudden prorogation of the House session has led to speculations that under-fire Oli may again bring ordinance to make splitting of political parties easier even as he is cornered inside the party.
