Nepali Congress (NC) lawmaker Gyan Kumari Chhantyal has passed away Wednesday.
The 63-year-old House of Representatives (HoR) member breathed her last at the Shahid Ganga Lal National Heart Center in Kathmandu Wednesday morning.
"She passed away today. The party will pass condolence motion through the central committee meeting later today. The meeting will not discuss any other agenda," Chief Secretary of the party Krishna Prasad Paudel told Setopati. "The leaders will leave for Pashupati Aryaghat after passing the condolence motion."
Channtyal, who hails from Burtiwang in Dhorpatan municipality of Baglung, was elected HoR member through the proportional representation system. She is also member of the Agriculture, Cooperative and Natural Resources Committee of the parliament.
She had also won election for the Second Constituent Assembly from the district.
She is survived by two sons and as many daughters.
