Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli has stated that Nepal is not a helpless yam between two boulders.
Addressing a program organized in Baluwatar on Sunday to mark the birth anniversary of Madan Bhandari, he pointed that sovereignty of a country is not small or big. "We should not make mistakes of not speaking and not asserting our rights harboring inferiority complex," he said. "This is not time for us to stay ruing that we are a helpless yam between two powerful countries. We are not yam."
He stressed that Nepal has a glorious past and a bright future. "This is a nation with independent sovereignty. It did not accept to become colonized by anybody," he stated. "The present dynamism is glorious and the potential of tomorrow is bright."
He conceded that the COVID-19 pandemic has been a serious setback for economic growth rate but pointed that this is just a temporary incident. "We will again move forward. The pandemic has ravaged the whole world in lack of prior preparations and experience. But we can face it."
