Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli has asked secretariat members for suggestions on the government's policies and programs to be presented in the parliament on Friday.
CPN Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha said PM Oli asked the secretariat members if they have any suggestion for the policies and programs during the secretariat meeting held in Baluwatar Friday morning. He, however, did not reveal the suggestions the secretariat members gave.
Shrestha added that the meeting did not discuss convening the party's standing committee meeting.
The government will present its policies and programs in the parliament on Friday. President Bidya Devi Bhandari will present the policies and programs in the federal parliament on behalf of the government at four in the afternoon
The government will prioritize the health sector in the policies and programs to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. The government has prepared programs to procure necessary equipment for health institutions, and to build up hospital capacity.
The government will also focus on creating jobs and agriculture. It is preparing programs to create jobs for Nepalis returning from abroad and workers of the trekking sector. It will also announce agricultural loans and programs for procuring unsold produce of farmers.
It will also bring programs for revival of the tourism sector hit hardest by the pandemic. It will propose a year for domestic tourism to revive the sector.
It will also announce programs for expansion of irrigation facilities and boost use of energy.
