Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli has expressed displeasure at relaxation of lockdown inside the Kathmandu Valley.
He said it is not right to relax the lockdown when COVID-19 is spreading during the Cabinet meeting at Baluwatar on Tuesday. "Is there a lockdown in place in Kathmandu now?" a minister quoted PM Oli as asking hinting at the traffic jam seen in the Kathmandu roads in recent days.
He instructed for strict enforcement of lockdown pointing that the economy is not bigger than people's lives, according to the minister.
The government had allowed operation of 42 different kinds of industries since Friday. The streets in Kathmandu are seeing gridlock in the morning and evening after the decision allowing opening of factories and shops.
The number of infection has started to rise after relaxation of lockdown with 24 testing positive on Monday and a whopping 57 on Tuesday.
