Leaders of the faction of Prime Minister and CPN Chairman KP Sharma Oli and that of senior party leader Madhav Kumar Nepal will meet at the latter's residence in Koteshwore Monday to resolve the current dispute.
Oli and Nepal had a one-on-one meeting in Baluwatar earlier on Monday.
Oli is currently in minority in all the party organs with CPN Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Nepal allying to oust him from Baluwatar. A majority of standing committee members have urged the two chairman to convene standing committee meeting to review the government's performance.
Oli is now looking for truce with Nepal deeming that the situation will become hostile for him in the standing committee meeting. "Leaders will sit for a meeting soon. The discussion will reach conclusion depending on the kind of proposal by the Oli faction," a leader told Setopati.
The leader said Oli may propose to leave the post of chairman for Nepal in return for continuing as PM, and claimed that Nepal is positive for such proposal.
Ishwore Pokharel, Bishnu Paudel, Shankar Pokharel and Pradeep Gyawali will represent the Oli faction during the meeting while Bhim Rawal, Surendra Pandey and Raghuji Panta will represent Nepal.
The Nepal faction will also broach the issue of Cabinet reshuffle along with transfer of party chairmanship.
