The government has decided to shut down all border points with India and China for movement of people for a week.
A Cabinet meeting at Baluwatar Sunday evening has decided to shut down all border points with both the northern and southern neighbors.
The Home Ministry will write to the districts that share international borders to shut down the points from 10 Monday morning.
Goods will continue to be transpoted across the border points during the period.
The government on Friday had ordered shutdown of all kinds of non-essential services delivered by both the government and private sector starting from Sunday.
No international flights will arrive in Nepal for 10 days starting Sunday. Similarly, long-distance domestic transportation has been stopped for unspecified duration from Monday.
There were concerns due to the open land borders with the two neighbors despite stopping all international flights. The latest Cabinet decision will ensure than there is no chance of infected persons entering Nepal from another country.
