Socialist Party Nepal lawmaker Pradeep Yadav has said that the Nepalis to be rescued from Wuhan should be kept at the Parliament House if the government does not find space to quarantine them.
Speaking during the House of Representatives (HoR) meeting on Tuesday he suggested the solution pointing how the government has not been able to fid a place to keep them in five days. "Let us keep them here emptying the Parliament House. Let us run the House in a tent outside," he suggested.
He also advised that the rescued persons should be kept at Hyatt Hotel if the government does not find a place. "Let us save the life of Nepalis by emptying Hyatt Hotel that has captured 304 ropanis of government land and keeping them there."
Health Minister Bhanubhakta Dhakal, who was also present during the HoR meeting, swatted away Yadav's suggestion calling that an exercise of freedom of expression rather than a genuine suggestion. Minister Dhakal said the government is trying to keep the rescued persons far from human settlements as far as possible and added that such a place is being searched.
He stated that there are plenty of options like the Parliament House and pointed that the disease cannot be controlled by keeping the rescued persons there.
The government has decided to send a chartered flight to the Chinese city of Wuhan, the place of origin of the new coronavirus, to bring Nepali nationals, mostly students, stranded there.
