Secretariat meeting of ruling CPN has started Friday morning to pick the party's candidates for National Assembly election.
The meeting has been convened Friday morning after the one Thursday evening failed to decide on the candidates. The meeting on Thursday could not reach conclusion after the secretariat members proposed their respective list of candidates.
The secretariat members have also demanded certain standards to pick the candidates.
Nominations have to be filed by Sunday for the election scheduled for January 23.
A total of 18 National Assembly seats are up for grabs in the election. The ruling CPN has agreed to leave two seats for Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RJP) as per their electoral alliance in Province 2.
The party will field 16 candidates in the election.
