The secretariat meeting of ruling CPN has picked seven provincial chiefs on Monday.
Amik Sherchan of Chitwan, Som Nath Adhikari Pyasi of Kaski, Tilak Pariyar of Banke, Govinda Kalauni of Dadeldhura, Bishnu Prasai of Jhapa, Sharmila Tripathi of Kathmandu and Dharma Nath Yadav of Siraha have been picked by the party as provincial chiefs, according to CPN General Secretary Bishnu Paudel.
Paudel said the Cabinet will decide where the septet will be deployed.
The government had sacked all seven provincial chiefs on Sunday. The Cabinet meeting Sunday morning had recommended President Bidya Devi Bhandari to sack the seven provincial chiefs. The President's Office in the evening has stated that the septet has been sacked on the basis of that recommendation.
The provincial chiefs were appointed by the then Sher Bahadur Deuba government on January 17, 2018.
Govinda Subba was chief of Province 1, Ratneshwore Lal Kayastha Province 2, Anuradha Koirala Province 3, Baburam Kunwar Gandaki, Umakant Jha Province 5, Durga Keshar Khanal Karnali and Mohan Raj Malla Far West.
Five of the chiefs were appointed on recommendation of Nepali Congress (NC) and that of Province 2 and Province 5 on recommendation of Madhes-based parties Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RJP) and the then Federal Socialist Forum Nepal (FSF-N) respectively.
