Binod Chaudhary opposes inheritance tax

Nepali Congress (NC) lawmaker and industrialist Binod Chaudhary has opposed the planned inheritance tax. Speaking in the House of Representatives (HoR) meeting on Sunday, he said he has taken the talks about inheritance tax as rumors. "That will definitely bring in serious malpractices," he stated. "If one has to pay tax even while transferring properties to a family member, that will definitely create serious social challenges." He claimed that the government has proposed unreasonable tax rates hurting the Nepali industries and exports, and asked for review of that.
