Former minister and lawmaker of the ruling CPN Janardan Sharma has proposed that the staffers deployed in the Karnali province be paid Rs 100,000 a month.
Speaking in the meeting of the State Affairs Committee of the parliament on Monday, Sharma said the staffers should be paid more as they do not stay there for long. "I took part in the discussion on policies and programs of Karnali. Staffers don't stay there. Let's pay them Rs 100,000 and the chief secretary Rs 300,000 to ensure they stay there," he suggested.
Karnali province, including only hilly and mountainous districts, have yet to get required staffers almost one and a half years after formation of provincial government there.
