President Bhandari uses commercial flight to travel to Nepalgunj

President Bidya Devi Bhandari has traveled on a commercial flight for probably the first time inside Nepal. President Bhandari, who usually flies on a chartered Nepal Army chopper inside Nepal, reached Nepalgunj at 12:30 Tuesday afternoon on a Shree Airlines airplane to participate in a climate conference, according to Chief District Officer (CDO) of Banke Madan Bhujel. "She will inaugurate the seminar organized by the Ministry of Forest and Environment on Wednesday," CDO Bhujel said. Elected representatives of different local bodies will also participate in the seminar. President Bhandari will also participate in the iftar dinner--the meal Muslims take after sunset during the holy month of Ramadan--in Nepalgunj Tuesday night. She will also address the golden jubilee celebrations of Prabhat Secondary School in Banke.
