The meeting of top leaders of the ruling CPN Tuesday morning has failed to conclude division of responsibilities in the party.
Chairmen KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal, General Secretary Bishnu Paudel and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal met at the prime minister's residence in Baluwatar to decide about department heads. But the four leaders could not forge consensus about the department heads, according to a party source.
CPN has not been able to decide about leadership of different departments including organization, finance, publicity and party school with multiple leaders wishing for single position.
The top leaders have not been able to decide with some secretariat members claiming for the organization department. Paudel and Nepal also want to lead the organization department.
The secretariat meeting scheduled for later Tuesday will now only discuss division of responsibilities among the central members after the four leaders failed to forge consensus about department heads.
The issue of forming politburo was also raised during the meeting between four leaders but it was not discussed after Dahal insisted that division of responsibilities among the central members should be completed before formation of politburo.
