CPN led by Netra Bikram Chand has claimed that it did not try to attack the police post in Chheska, Solukhumbu Sunday night.
Issuing a press statement after news reports on Monday stated that the police post in Chheska of Mahakulung rural municipality 3 was evacuated following threats from the party, CPN Spokesperson Khadga Bahadur Bishwokarma has refuted the reports.
"Our attention has been drawn to the planned and conspiratorial propaganda that our party made efforts to attack a police post in Solukhumbu," the statement reads. "Clarifying that the party has no policy to attack security agencies, and such incident did not happen, we want to make it clear that the fake news has been propagated as per the government's conspiracy to suppress in the eastern Nepal."
The police post at Chheska was evacuated due to security sensitivity owing to threats from Chand-led CPN, according to Inspector with Solukhumbu Police Pradip Subedi.
A six-strong team led by Assistant Sub-inspector Hira Prasad Devkota was deployed at the post.
A big group of armed CPN cadres had reached the police post Sunday night but the police personnel were already evacuated to a safe place before that. The armed cadres moved toward Sankhuwasabha after staying at the empty post for around three hours, according to a source at Nepal Police headquarters.
