A police post in Solukhumbu has been evacuated following threat of attack by CPN led by Netra Bikram Chand.
The police post at Chheska in Mahakulung rural municipality 3 was evacuated due to security sensitivity owing to threats from Chand-led CPN, according to Inspector with Solukhumbu Police Pradip Subedi.
A six-strong team led by Assistant Sub-inspector Hira Prasad Devkota was deployed at the post.
A big group of CPN cadres had reached the police post Sunday night but the police personnel were already evacuated to a safe place before that. The CPN cadres returned back after finding the post empty.
A police team led by DSP Shalik Ram Sharma of District Police Office has already reached Chheska which is 75 kilometers away from district headquarters Salleri.
A 21-strong team led by DSP Sharma had gone to Chheska four days earlier as well. Electricity and telecommunication services have been obstructed at Chheska.
Assistant Chief District Officer (CDO) Laxmi Kumari Shahi expressed ignorance about evacuation of the police post in Chheska due to threats from Chand-led CPN. "There may have been activities of the party but not efforts to attack," she claimed.
