CPN Chairmen KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal had a one-on-one meeting at Baluwatar Sunday.
The meeting came amidst speculation of tension in relation between the two leaders following Dahal's revelation of the agreement to take turn as prime minister.
CPN General Secretary Bishnu Paudel and Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa were also involved in the meeting for three hours before the 30-minute one-on-one between the two chairmen. The four leaders discussed sharing of positions, secretariat meeting and concluding formation of the commission about transitional justice.
The party's secretariat meeting will be held from Monday.
Dahal during an interview with journalist Rishi Dhamala on Thursday had said he don't even want to imagine that PM Oli will not quit the position for him after two and a half years and warned that Oli will be finished if he dishonors the agreement.
Dahal warned that Oli will face difficulties if the latter does not honor the agreement and pave the way for him to become PM. "I firmly believe anyone deviating from that agreement will not survive. I will also not survive if I try to do so. The other person also will not, if he tries to do so," he had stated.
Dahal's statement comes mid-way through the agreed 30-month term of Oli and there are rumors that Dahal, and senior leaders Madhav Kumar Nepal, Jhala Nath Khanal, Bam Dev Gautam, and Narayan Kaji Shrestha have already reached agreement to replace Oli with Dahal at the helm of the government.
