Chief Minister (CM) of Far West province Trilochan Bhatta has appointed Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) lawmaker Krishna Subedi as the new social development minister on Tuesday.
Subedi, elected from Kailali-4(B), has been sworn in as social development minister Tuesday afternoon.
CM Bhatta earlier on the day had sacked CPN lawmaker Dirgha Sodari as social development minister. Sodari had invited controversy after his official vehicle, without him and being used by his family, hit a motorcycle on the day of Bhaitika on Friday. He has been reportedly fired due to that controversy but the CM's Office has not provided reasons for sacking him.
The party later took action of its own revoking even his general party membership. Sodari, who was Kailali chairman of the then CPN-UML, is close to CPN leader Bhim Rawal.
