Civil servants have to swear they will not commit any acts of corruption on before beginning their duty every day.
The officials have to promise not to commit any acts of corruption, not let anyone to commit corruption, and to work honestly for the nation and public to promote good governance and good practice as per the zero-tolerance policy adopted by the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers for controlling corruption.
According to spokesperson at PMO Joint Secretary Binod Bahadur Kunwar, the chief secretary-level meeting on October 2 issued a directive to all government offices instructing the staffers to swear "I will not commit any act of corruption. I will not let anyone commit corruption. I pledge to work by being honest for my country and public," and to put a commitment paper mentioning the oath at a visible place.
