Chairman of the ruling Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has assured the third-ranked party leader Madhav Kumar Nepal of getting all the decisions taken by the standing committee after the latter expressed displeasure at the party's decision-making process.
Dahal, who is in Singapore for treatment of his wife Sita, called Nepal over the phone to assure that he and another Chairman KP Sharma Oli are not trying to isolate Nepal, according to central member Bishnu Rijal who is close to Nepal. Dahal has also assured that he will get all the decisions taken by the standing committee after he returns home.
Nepal has expressed displeasure at appointment of provincial chiefs and chairmen on September 21 when he was in Ghana to attend a conference. The major grudge of Nepal is that the decision was taken by the secretariat and not the standing committee, and Oli did not keep his word of not taking any decision while Nepal was abroad.
Nepal earlier had pummeled the government in the parliament saying the country is on the verge of being drowned.
He convened a meeting of standing committee members the very next day and expressed displeasure over appointment of provincial chiefs and chairmen while he was abroad.
Chairman Oli, who was in America for the UN General Assembly then, termed Nepal's criticism of the government and the party's operation expression of frustrations.
Another Chairman Dahal, however, has phoned Nepal from abroad to assure him.
Nepal, meanwhile, has left for China later Sunday. He will be a keynote speaker in a program organized by China Three Gorges University in Hubei province. He will return home on Thursday. PM Oli, who is currently in Costa Rica, will also return the same day.
