A curfew has been imposed in the Birgunj Metropolitan City area of Parsa.
Chief District Officer Bhola Dahal issued the curfew order, effective from 9:45 a.m. on Monday until further notice.
The administration decided to impose the curfew following clashes between two communities in the Birgunj area on Sunday, citing concerns that the situation could escalate further.
The curfew has been imposed in the area within Bypass Road in the east, the Sirsiya River in the west, Gandak Chowk in the north, and Shankaracharya Gate in the south.
The administration has prohibited movement, as well as any kind of gathering, procession, demonstration, assembly, or meeting during this period.
However, the administration stated that security personnel will facilitate movement for ambulances, fire engines, hearses, vehicles of health workers, journalists, examinees and staff appearing for previously scheduled university examinations, tourist vehicles, vehicles of human rights organizations and diplomatic missions, as well as flight passengers.
