The identities of the two females whose bodies were found burnt in Naya Bazar and Lakeside of Pokhara have been established.
The body discovered in the building of Anshubhara Group in Lakeside belongs to 26-year-old Swasthani Khadka, while the body found in Naya Bazar belongs to approximately 35-year-old Sanju Nagarkoti, according to Kaski Police.
Police said that both individuals died after being burnt in the fire set by protestors on Tuesday.
Khadka worked at a spa in Pokhara, according to the police.
She was inside the Anshubhara Group building when protestors set it on fire, and she died in the blaze. Police said that her permanent address is Ward No. 8, Baiteshwar Rural Municipality, Dailekh.
Nagarkoti, whose burnt body was found in Naya Bazar, had only started working at the showroom from June 15. Prior to that, she had been working as a domestic worker, according to the police.
Although her permanent address is understood to be in Sindhupalchowk, the rural municipality and ward have not yet been confirmed, Kaski Police said.
On Tuesday, protestors set fire to the commercial building of Anshubhara Group in Lakeside, owned by Gandaki province's Minister for Social Development Bindu Kumar Thapa. They also set fire to the auto showroom in Naya Bazar operated by his brother Dhruba Thapa. Police said that the two women died in the arson attacks.
