Four family members of Dhan Prasad Bhattarai from Khadachakra municipality 6 of Kalikot have been found dead in the quarter Thursday morning, according to Inspector with Banke Police Khim Bahadur Gharti.
The deceased persons include the hospital's store keeper Dhan Prasad, 24, his mother Kokila, elder sister Nanda Kali and four-month son Action.
The whole family had slept in a single room burning coal for warmth as the temperature climbed down owing to winter rain throughout Wednesday and died apparently due to carbon monoxide poisoning in the closed room.
"They burnt coal for warmth. They seem to have been asphyxiated as even the windows were closed," Gharti stated.
