Four children have been killed in a bomb explosion in Rolpa on Thursday.
DSP with Rolpa Police Chitra Bahadur Gurung confirmed that the four died when playing with an old improvised explosive device (IED) at Gairigaon in ward no. 7 of Triveni rural municipality.
"An explosive looking like a two-inch mortar went off. Four children have been killed in the explosion. Another explosive device has not gone off," Gurung added.
A bomb disposal squad from the Nepali Army is working to defuse others IED believed.
The victims have been identified as son of Lal Bahadur Khatri of Triveni-7 Bijay Khatri, five, his 11-year-old sister Bimala Khatri, 13-year-old son of Laxman Nepali, Gaurav, and 14-year-old son of Oj Bahadur Dangi, Nokhiram.
The kids found two IEDs when they had taken the cattle for grazing. One of that went off when they were playing with it.
