Two Nepali men have started to live in a cave in Uttarakhand, India due to the lockdown.
A team of Uttarakhand Police from Laxmanjula Police Station found Prakash Shahi of Banke and Man Bahadur Thapa of Surkhet in a cave in Laxmanjula.
Sub-incharge of the police post Ranbir Ramola told Setopati that the two were found when they came for food as his team was distributing relief materials for the impoverished people. "They had come looking for food. It was revealed that they are Nepali workers when we asked," Sub-inspector Ramola said over the phone. "They had apparently been living in a cave for the past three-four days.
They had been working at other places and started to stay in the cave after they did not get work due to the lockdown. "We are preparing to send them to a shelter home now," he added.
Nepalis trying to enter Nepal after the lockdown have been kept at shelters in different border points in India.
Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli during the address to nation Tuesday revealed that a total of 2,147 Nepalis have been quarantined in India in coordination with the Indian government. PM Oli added that they would be allowed in only after health check-up in a few days.
