Medical equipment including personal protective equipment (PPE) for the health workers have arrived from China Sunday morning.
The materials were transported on a chartered flight of the Nepal Airlines Corporation. Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population Dr Bikash Devkota confirmed the arrival of equipment. Around 50,000 COVID-19 testing kits and 100,000 sets of PPEs have been brought among others, according to him.
The NAC wide-body aircraft landed at the Tribhuvan International Airport at 5:00 in the morning. It had left for Guangzhou, China on Saturday.
Medical goods including COVID-19 testing kits, PPEs and medicines weighing around 13,000 kilograms were brought to Kathmandu in the NAC aircraft from Guangzhou of China, according to Chief of the NAC operations department Dipu Juharchan.
