Cabinet meeting Tuesday to appoint Nepal Police IGP

A Cabinet meeting has been called for Tuesday to select the Nepal Police chief.

Another Cabinet meeting has been called as the regular meeting on Monday could not decide on the next IGP, according to a minister.

IGP Sarbendra Khanal is retiring on Tuesday.

The next IGP has to be selected from among the current DIGs as the AIGs, all from Khanal's batch, are also retiring on Tuesday.

DIGs Thakur Gyawali, Tarani Prasad Lamsal and Surya Upadhyaya are in contention for the top post.
