Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane and Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah have signed an agreement Sunday morning.
Following a meeting between the two sides that started Saturday evening, the agreement was signed at four Sunday morning. According to the agreement, RSP will propose Shah as the prime minister (PM) after the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) election. The party's name, election symbol, and flag will remain those of RSP. Lamichhane will continue as RSP president.
While the agreement does not explicitly mention the central committee, an understanding has been reached to update the record at the Election Commission by adding central members from Shah's side.
The agreement states that following the broad unification, the party's organizational structure will be expanded to incorporate youth activists and experienced experts. Appointments to various responsibilities will be based on merit, inclusivity, and public image.
