CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has visited the residence of Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba in Maharajgunj to meet him.
According to Oli's secretariat, the meeting was scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
A secretariat source said that the meeting is currently underway.
Deuba’s wife Arzu Rana and Oli’s wife Radhika Shakya are also participating in the meeting.
This is the first meeting between the two leaders since the Gen Z movement on September 8 and 9. Before that, the UML and NC were in a power-sharing arrangement.
Oli resigned from the post of prime minister on September 9 following the Gen Z movement.
The National Assembly election is scheduled for January 25 , and the House of Representatives election is set for March 5, 2026.
It is reported that Oli and Deuba will discuss contemporary political developments and other issues during the meeting.
Deuba was attacked at his residence in Budhanilkantha on September 9. He returned home after undergoing medical treatment in Singapore.
