The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and the Bibeksheel Sajha Party (BSP) have announced their unification.
The unification was announced at an event held at the City Hall in Kathmandu on Sunday.
The RSP, led by President Rabi Lamichhane, and the BSP, led by Samiksha Baskota, had reached an agreement on unification a few days ago.
The BSP had approved the party unification proposal through a central committee meeting. Prior to that, both parties had formed task forces to discuss the unification process.
However, BSP leader Milan Pandey will not be part of the unification. The BSP had agreed to retain the RSP's name and election symbol for the unified party.
