The event organized to announce the unification of 10 groups, including the CPN (Maoist Center), is underway at Bhrikuti Mandap in Kathmandu.
Various communist groups, including the Maoist Center, the CPN (Unified Socialist), the Chiran Pun group that rebelled from Netra Bikram Chand’s CPN, Raju Karki’s CPN (Socialist), Subas Raj Kafle’s Janasamajwadi Party, Mahindra Raya Yadav's Nepal Samajwadi Party, Karnajit Budha's CPN (Maoist Socialist), and Prem Chalaune’s CPN (Samyabadi) Party, are announcing their unification.
The name of the unified party will be Nepali Communist Party and its election symbol will be a five-pointed star.
